Here an interview with Harvey Weinstein goes into detail about the amount of gratuitous violence increasing in prominence within everyday media, the infamous Quintin Tarantino and his very colorful style of violence, and the effects it may be teaching our young. Weistein goes on to say that the presence of violence within the media has been around for years beyond their time. It was not uncommon for books in the past to express graphic violence. These could range from archaic violence to poetically nuanced. Violent media and driven characters that cause damage have been around for a long time. He goes on to say that the style of violence can be different within different films, while also having similar shock to the audience by pushing the same buttons yet in a different order.

3. Marilyn Manson, a known musician addresses in the article that he and his music had no influence on the Columbine Massacre and that it is not uncommon for the media to chose targets. With Manson speaking on how the media fills in spaces of characters shown with them leading to blame the actions to eccentric individuals or counter culture groups. As Manson is known for a uniqueness and musical style that has proved successful, while also garnering negative or disagreeing crowds. Manson goes on to revel that the boys were not even known to follow his music or even style.
